He is the author of The Anthology of Colonial Australian Crime Fiction, The Anthology of Colonial Australian Gothic Fiction, Popular Fiction: The Logics and Practices of a Literary Field, Reading the Vampire, and Subcultures: Cultural Histories and Social Practice. Paul Salzman is an associate professor of English literature at La Trobe University. He is the author of Literary Culture in Jacobean England : Reading 1621 and Reading Early Modern Women's Writing. They are the coauthors of The New Diversity: Australian Fiction 1970–1988.
