Alternative Perspectives on Economic Policies in the European Union

This book examines alternative economic policies for the European Union in the aftermath of the rejection of the European Constitution. The subject range includes macroeconomic policy and the European Constitution, EU financial integration, the reform of European regional policy, assessment and alternative proposals on European structural policies and labour market policies in the European Union.

Philip Arestis is University Director of Research, Cambridge Centre for Economic and Public Policy, University of Cambridge, Senior Research Fellow, Wolfson College Cambridge, and Professor of Economics at the Levy Economics Institute, New York City. His research interests are in the areas of macroeconomics, monetary economics, applied econometrics, political economy and applied political economy. He has published a number of books and has contributed in the form of invited chapters to books, having published widely in academic journals.

Malcolm Sawyer is Professor of Economics at Leeds University Business School.
