Amos Moses, Legend of Big Foot is a western fiction novel for both young and old readers. It concerns two young cousins growing up on the west Texas plains. They experience many exciting adventures, problems good and bad, and daring encounters - some that are unpleasant and unforgettable, others that are enjoyable. Their most important task is to overcome their own personal differences and learn to work together to handle their soon-to-come trouble which is in the form of a legendary mountain lion, a killer called Big Foot. The dreaded animal seems to have developed a taste for the Moses' family beef and Mrs. Moses' prized laying hens. Big Foot has to be found and dealt with for the family's livelihood depends on it. To add to these difficulties, one of the neighbor boys accidentally shoots his brother causing the derangement of their father who blames the Amos family for the tragedy. These unfolding events make life for the Moses family almost unbearable. The action is fast and never-ending as the two youngsters struggle toward manhood on the turbulent, sometimes cruel Texas frontier of the 1870s. Amos Moses has all the ingredients for the development of character and self-esteem. It shows responsibility and portrays tolerance, love, sharing, caring and family values.
