Applied Research and Evaluation Methods in Recreation

This book is a core textbook for the recreation undergraduate and graduate level students. This comprehensive text encompasses evaluation, research, action research and basic statistical analysis in a unified, thorough and consistent manner while linking their classroom learning to direct field experiences which is critical for Recreation Professionals.

Diane Blankenship has a wealth of experience in the field of recreation, having worked in residential camps, in aquatic facilitites and as a recreation therapist for the Department of the Army in Germany and in the US in recreation centres. Blankenship serves on the Maryland Recreation and Park Association conference committee and co-ordinates data analysis and the final report for all the conference session evaluations and the overall conference evaluation. I have done this for the past 8 out of 10 years. In addition, I am a recreation commissioner for the City of Frostburg and serve as the driving force to continue evaluation of current facilities and assessment of future needs.
