Klaus-Detlef Müller's studies represent a consistent literary history of the modern age between the Baroque and the present, centering on two pillars of enlightenment discourse: criticism and dialogue. The articles assembled here are responses to Klaus-Detlef Müller's major research concerns: literature in the age of Goethe, realism, classical modernism, and issues posed by the theory of genre and media theory. As such, they reflect the broad historical, intermedial, and methodological range of Müller's interests, and his commitment to the ethos of enlightenment.
