JoBea Holt is the mother of twins and is writing books and articles for children about discovering our world. She received her PhD from Caltech in 1981 and was a scientist with NASA for 25 years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where her research ranged from the atmosphere of Venus to the arctic forests of Alaska using radar technology from the Pioneer Venus spacecraft, the Space Shuttle and international spaceborne imaging radar systems. She created a variety of hands-on educational programs for children, including the KidSat program. In her first non-NASA book, Baby's Day Out in Southern California, she shares with us her experiences and insights about discovering our local world with babies and toddlers.
