This book focuses on the work of the relief agencies involved in wartime famine and humanitarian aid in Greece during its occupation and civil war in the 1940s.

RICHARD CLOGG is a Fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford. He previously taught at the universities in Edinburgh and London. He has written and edited a number of books including Greece 1940-1949: Occupation, Resistance, Civil War and This Concise History of Greece (second edition 2000) which has been translated into several languages, including Turkish, Japanese and Serbian.
