As a massive book nerd I frequently day dream about what my future library is going to look like. And yes, it is a demand of mine that my home has to have a library. I mean, if I have to grow up and be an adult I think getting my dream library is only fair, right?
I’ve seen many pictures of libraries that I’m completely in love with, but none that are the one I want. Therefore, I’ve compiled a list of features that my library must have in order to be perfect.
First, it needs to have a secret entrance. Ideally there will be a bookcase in my home and my favorite book will be the way to get into the library. All I’ll have to do is pull the book back a little bit and the bookcase will open into the actual library. I would like a secret entrance because I want my library to be like a private sanctuary and I don’t want the room to be open to just anyone.
Second, it will have a sliding spiral staircase (like one of those ordinary ladders that are at the bookstore, but it’s spiral!). My main reasoning behind wanting this is because it’s awesome.
Next, I would love a window seat with a plush cushion to chill and read on. I’ve always wanted a window seat to curl up in and I think a library would be the perfect place for it! Can you even imagine how relaxing that would be (especially if there was a nice view)?
Obviously the library also has to have a fabulous chair/couch because it’s so annoying when I’m trying to read and I can’t get comfortable.
Finally, in order for the library to be absolutely perfect, it must have a little corner for tea and snacks. Green tea is something that I almost always drink when I read (and honestly, the health benefits are endless so you should really drink it) so I would adore having a little place in my library for tea making!
Well that’s my list! If anyone is reading this that is willing and able to build this for me, I will love you forever! And to all of my fellow book nerds: I hope you get your dream library someday so you have the perfect place for your imagination to run wild.
