Today's young people are bombarded with messages about money. How can financial institutions, schools, congregations, youth-serving organizations, and others help young people sort out those messages—particularly when it can be so uncomfortable to talk about money? This workshop curriculum explores mixed messages about money and how to have open dialogue about this difficult topic. The workshop can be delivered in a 4-hour workshop setting or in 45-minute modules. Optional asset-building activties are included in the curriculum for more active audiences. The workshop : * Addresses financial responsibility from an asset-building perspective; * Opens dialogue across generations about this difficult topic; * Helps create ideas and tools to guide young people's choices based on their values and beliefs; * Identifys opportunities to encourage young people to be responsible in spending, saving, and giving money.For: Educators, youth workers, congregational leaders, youth, and community builders from all sectors who seek to address financial responsibility for youth from an asset-building perspective.Included in the kit is the Talk About Money! workshop curriculum and the following Search Institute titles: Get Things Going!, Building Assets Together, Building More Assets Together, The Asset Builder's Guide to Youth and Money, The Asset Approach, and 150 Ways to Show Kids You Care poster.
