On the Third Day

Society is on the brink of collapse. The Old World is vanishing, the New World is taking over. In this new place there are no rules. Not now that it is infected by a disease that causes its victims to die of debilitating sadness within three days. But some of the infected are turning violent with no apparent notice. Previously loving folk become murderous. No-one can tell who will turn and who will not. Miriam is a petrified widow and mother of two. Her husband was an early victim of the sadness. Joseph, her husband's brother, appoints himself as protector and drives them away from the rioting on London's streets to the safe haven of their family home on Cornwall's coast.But Joseph is terrified of catching the Sadness. Because he could be one of those who turns violent. And who will there be to protect the family from their protector?
