Research is becoming an important part of business schools' activities. As a scientific field that is both relevant and cross-disciplinary, business studies is at the center of many important issues in the philosophy of science. Management and business economics are often seen as a fragmented research area without any unifying paradigm. That may be the case, but diversity is perhaps not necessarily bad - there may be dimensions other than paradigms that serve to unify the areas.
This collection of papers arises out of the activity of the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration and reflects the situation in the field as seen mainly through the eyes of advanced doctoral students.
