Breathless Homicidal Slime Mutants The Art of the Paperback

Wonder Woman is the most popular female super hero of all time and a cultural icon. She has served in the Army, renounced her powers at the height of the feminist movement and helped launch Gloria Steinem's Ms. Magazine. The book will contain 250 Wonder Woman covers: beginning with her inception in 1941 as created by colorful persona William Moulton Marston to a new role model for the women and girls during WWII; discussion of Wonder Woman's meteoric popularity even as compared to Superman and Batman; the creation of the Wonder Woman television show with the incomparable Lynda Carter in the title role; to the current present-day reboot of the character. Celebrated artists include Alex Ross, Jim Lee, and Brian Bolland, to name only a few. Art from the 2007 Wonder Woman All Star series created by super-popular artist Adam Hughes will also be included. Lastly, the book will also include rare covers and pin-up posters created for past special-edition comic books.

Steven Brower teaches conceptual design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and Kean University in New Jersey. Co-author of Woody Guthrie Artworks, he is the recipient of numerous design awards. Steven Heller is co-chair of the School of Visual Arts MFA Designer as Author program and co-founder of its MFA Design Criticism and MFA Interaction Design programs.
