Caribbean underwater volcano Kick'Em Jenny violently erupts leaving a few survivors - Nicky and some lucky politicians who could have saved their people. In a tale of human folly, comedy and enlightenment set in the fictional Caribbean island of Wui, a former British colony, Nicky suffers various mishaps in a developing small island governed by leaders in and out of the executive who probably have no clue about their real tasks - which is irrelevant to governance because the governed are either too busy with trivialities or too daft to care. In the midst of overwhelming small island mentality, gossip, plural society issues, cricket, calypso, carnival and the need for massive intakes of food and drink influencing people's behaviour, values and loyalties, underwater volcano Kick'Em Jenny erupts, killing everyone and destroying everything on the island. A few politicians "accidentally" save themselves by being out of the island on that fated day, as well as the lucky Nicky, one of the few who believed that the volcano was a real threat (apart from her mysterious protector and an American university professor found dead on the island in suspicious circumstances).A dramatic and often comic tale of love, hate and indifference.
