Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis

Since the last edition was published seven years ago, catalytic asymmetric synthesis has become crucial to chemistry and to the preparation of pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and agricultural agents. The revised Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis includes six new chapters on topics like non-conventional media/conditions, organocatalysis, CH activation, and much more, while the old chapters are fully updated. A new section, written by Nobel laureates, has been added on carbon-carbon bond forming reactions. This revision, with a helpful appendix, is an essential reference on catalytic asymmetric synthesis for both chemists and students alike.

Iwao Ojima, PhD, a world-renowned leader in asymmetric catalysis, medicinal chemistry, and drug discovery, is the Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and the Director of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is recipient of numerous awards, including the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award (ACS), the Chemical Society of Japan Award, and the E. B. Hershberg Award (ACS). He is a Fellow of the Guggenheim Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Ojima was inducted to the Medicinal Chemistry Hall of Fame (ACS) in 2006.
