The Chicken Soup for the Soul in the Classroom: High School Edition: Lesson Plans to Change the World One Story at a Time

The HIGH SCHOOL VERSION of Chicken Soup for the Soul Lesson Plans targets many of the trials and tribulations of the teenage years. While some of the stories deal with serious topics such as suicide, racism, or addictions, the overall goal is student empowerment, and the overall feeling with all Chicken Soup for the Soul stories is hope. Finding connection” with self, others, and the world is a primary concept, so the worksheets, writing assignments, and activities are designed to focus on self-identity and responsibility toward others. Chicken Soup stories empower all ages to make changes, and these teens are the ones who will leave the classroom and will make a difference in their communities and in the world. The importance, and pure enjoyment of reading to these older students is also stressed.
