Chinese Youth in Transition

The purpose of this book is to provide researchers with current, reliable and comprehensive information about children and youth in modern China. The book is in three parts each of which begins with a general overview. Part 1 focuses on Chinese children and includes coverage of children's physical and mental development and their leisure and consumption choices. Part 2 considers Chinese youth including coverage of youth employment and consideration of two sub-groups - rural youth and college students. Part 3 covers both Chinese children and youth and presents four topics: pop culture, children raised in one-child families, internet use, and juvenile delinquency.
