Contemporary Scottish Literature

This guide examines the critical construction of the genre of 'contemporary Scottish literature' and assesses the critical responses to a wide range of contemporary Scottish fiction, poetry and drama. The guide is structured thematically with each chapter addressing a specific area of debate within the field of contemporary Scottish Studies.

MATT McGUIRE is currently completing a PhD in contemporary Irish and Scottish Literature (to finish June 2006). He received an MSc in 2004 from the University of Edinburgh having written a thesis on the language of contemporary Scottish fiction and is also presently teaching Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh.
