Sumptuous plasterwork ornament is a celebrated and distinctive feature of Ireland's 18th-century domestic architecture. Migrant craftsmen brought the modeling skills and decorative forms of European plasterwork and influenced the emergence of a prolific and idiosyncratic local production.
