'The Door' narrates the epic voyages of a human monad-self. It is the mental wanderings of the brain-mind of a man who feels within the depths of his awareness the irresistible urge to travel to the inner pathways of his consciousness, thus discovering his true origins, the purpose behind mankind's existence, the real reasons for being. The hero (perhaps for some, the anti-hero) agonises to discover what lay behind the illusions of earthly life, struggles to lift the countless veils that disguise a perpetually relative higher reality, and so finally coming to the end of his quest. But the answers are hard to find, the Truth an evasive phantom, the final destination painfully elusive. Throughout this wondrous flight the protagonist is accompanied by a 'friend' (The Wind) which sometimes carries him in its embrace, and an often annoying 'councillor' (The Voice) who persists on pelting him with advise, fractions of Ancient Wisdom which the pilgrim often finds contemptible and unwelcome.
