El lugar más maravilloso

A tender tale about the power of imagination and a mother's love, this story tells about a little boy who looks for a shelter from the imposing and sometimes frightening world of adults. He finds refuge in the branches of a fig tree, where he plays and has fun with friends and, most importantly, is safe from outside influences. Even when pain and sorrow threaten his carefully constructed world, though, he knows he can take comfort in the arms of his mother. Un cuento tierno sobre el poder de la imaginacion y el amor de una madre, esta historia presenta un nino quien busca un refugio del imponente y a veces espantoso mundo de adultos. El consigue un albergue en las ramas de una higuera, adonde juega y se divierte con sus amigos y, mas importante aun, adonde puede escapar de influencias exteriores. Aun cuando el dolor amenaza su mundo cuidadosamente construido, el nino sabe que se puede refugiar en los brazos de su madre.

Esperanza León is a painter, an illustrator, and an engraver who has worked in the design, publicity, and botanical investigation fields.
