Escape from Oblivion

At the age of seven, Carrie begins to suffer horrifying nightmares. Paralyzed with fear, unable to rush from her room and seek comfort from her parents, she lives a guarded and often sleepless childhood. Through friendships and a deep faith in herself, Carrie is able to go through the motions of adolescence, high school, and college, building relationships with boys and then men who are unusually sensitive and always good listeners. When true love finally comes, Carrie understands that she must confront her demons and put a face on these nightmares. But how?
