The Eskdale Herd-boy

The Eskdale Herd-boy: For the Instruction and Amusement of Young people tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Martin and their relationship with the people in this community. John Telfer the herd boy shows the young reader the advantages of integrity at a young age. William Martin¿s short life is an example of what can happen when a child is disobedient and how their action effect not only themselves but also other people around them. Helen on the other hand is a dutiful daughter whose strength is a comfort to her parents in trying times.
