Olga Rozanoba (1886-1918) was one of the most original artists of the Russian avant-garde during the explosive 1910s. Her bold paintings, futurist books, poetry, and theoretical writings reflect the artistic and cultural milieu in this pivotal time of radical experimentation and negation of all traditions. A founding member of the "Union of Youth" group of artists, Rozanova was among the very first to associate herself with the burgeoning futurist movement. Among her collaborators and friends she counted such influential figures as Malevich, Mayakovsky, Rodchenko, and Popova. This book is the first monograph on the artist and the artist's theoretical writings are published here in their entirety for the first time.
