The Future Health Workforce

This book explains and challenges recent government thinking about reforming the professions in health care. Chapters cover recent developments in nurse-led care and shifting boundaries in medicine. The unacknowledged role of health care assistants, the place of complementary therapists, carers and patients themselves are considered. There is a focus on clearer visions for the future and on bringing public health more firmly into primary care.
