PIOTR GWIAZDA was born in Olsztyn, Poland, in 1973 and came to the United States in 1991. In addition to poems, he has published critical essays and reviews in Chicago Review, Contemporary Literature, PN Review, Journal of Modern Literature, Postmodern Culture, the Times Literary Supplement, and elsewhere. His book Merrill's Auden will be published by the University of Delaware Press in 2006. He is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he teaches courses in modern and contemporary poetry.
