The Galilean Apprentice

Set at the end of the second century of the Common Era in a Galilee that has never recovered from the ravages of the Bar Kochba rebellion, The Galilean Apprentice introduces Aaron bar Jonah, a precocious teenage committed to becoming a physician. In doing so, he must contrive to educate himself in the medical arts while contending with the clashing cultures and nationalities (Jewish, Greek, Christian and pagan) and formidable religious personalities of ancient Galilee, all struggling to survive under the brutal occupation of the rapacious Roman Empire.
