It familiarizes readers with the wide range of salient issues, research methods, writing styles, and leading authors from around the globe. Readers can compare and contrast the threads of similarity and strands of difference in feminist concerns globally, gaining familiarity with the breadth of gender research, and understanding the national contexts that produced it. Each essay is addition, the editors illustrate this new wave of gender research with a translated/reprinted sample of important contemporary theoretical or empirical work from each country. The editors will include pieces from scholars in: India, China (Asia), sub Saharan Africa, western and eastern Europe, south/central America, and both theEnglish and Hispanic speaking Caribbean.
