Taitou's reckless infiltration of the imperial palace may have been successful, but his meeting with the emperor is cut short when the palace guards attack. Returning to Touyuu temple, Taitou and his comrades find themselves surrounded by the soldiers of Genrou-Tou. While Ryuushou keeps the guards at bay, Taitou and the others escape, but the old man's sacrifice weighs heavy on Taitou's heart.
