Dick Leonard is a political journalist and former Labour MP. Previously Assistant Editor of The Economist, he has also worked for The Observer and the BBC, and has contributed to leading newspapers across the world. He is the author or part-author of over twenty books, including The Great Rivalry: Gladstone & Disraeli, a Dual Biography, Elections in Britain and The Economist Guide to the European Union (eleven editions).
