Identity and Repartnering after Separation

This book examines the lives of formerly married and previously cohabiting people, a group pivotal to contemporary marital and family change. It focuses on their diverse experiences of being 'single', views about future relationships, and senses of self in a couple-orientated society like Britain, paying due attention to the interplay between social context, identity and behaviour. The content interweaves findings from in-depth interviews, recent theoretical ideas relating to themes such as intimacy, emotions and decision-making, and demographic analyses of repartnering.
