We live in a world where success has been defined for many of us in part by people we don't even know. The trickle- down affect on society at large is the conception of a people who are overindulged, overburdened with stress, underpaid and overworked. Government and personal debt are at crisis levels.According to the United State's government figures one in six people in the United States are receiving public aid. 44.6 million People are currently receiving food stamps. That's 6.7 billion dollars in food stamp payments every month. Medicaid currently has more than 60 million recipients. That's 50 billion in Medicaid and Medicare Payments each month. Five million families depend on rental assistance each month. The numbers for this program are 6.7 billion dollars per year. The bottom 40 percent of income earners in the United States own less than 1 percent of the nation's wealth. The average executive's paycheck in 1950 was 30:1. Since the year 2000 that number has exploded to 300 to 500:1. U.S. Banks now own a greater share of residential housing net worth in the United States than all individual families put together. In 2009 only 26 percent of teenagers between 16 and 19 years of age were employed. That is the lowest rate since 1948. Two- thirds of income increases between 2002 and 2007 went to the wealthiest 1 percent ofAmericans. These are but a few of the figures which show that we are headed on a steady decline as a nation.Greed and lack of discipline and personal responsibility is destroying us as families, communities and as a nation. Each and every one of us is culpable for the titanic mess that has been created.People are "losing it" each and every day in their homes, on their jobs and even in churches throughout the world because spiritual and social perspective has been corrupted and misguided. We are deprived socially, psychologically, physically and most importantly, spiritually. There must be a systematic overhaul to the way we have been programmed to think about what debt is and how it impacts each of us individually and as a collective. Romans 13:8 says that we are to owe no man anything except love. If you love your neighbor you have fulfilled God's law. This is not the typical book that you find on the market that is a "how-to-get rich-quick" book. This is not a pyramid scheme. I am not going to tell you how to make twenty- thousand dollars in an hour if you send me ten- thousand dollars up front. Everyone is not going to be a millionaire, but God does want you to live free from all forms of debt; He wants you to be successful and to live a life of wealth.
