The KA 142 Conspiracy

An eminent astrophysicist determines that a major catastrophe will occur in 2017, an asteroid of previously unheard of size will pass close-by Earth causing it to tilt on its axis. The United States will become a frozen wasteland! He informs the President. He explains that this is a 10325 year event which may be responsible for many previous phenomena like the demise of the dinosaurs, the warming of Antarctica. The President orders absolute secrecy as he and selected Cabinet members, led by his 'henchman' undertake plans to gradually take control of South American countries and Australia; and migrate the entire American population. Many are suspicious of the President's motives. Those that come close to finding the truth are eliminated. Near the event, the Russians, delay the intended migration. As each day passes the number that can be migrated falls by millions. The novel follows the lives of characters who experience the traumatic events including major earthquakes, tsunamis, rising sea levels through ice melt, and the subsidence of the Pacific tectonic plate causing Los Angeles and other western seafront cities to be swamped by seawater. The exodus is unprecedented as miles of vehicles try to escape south, many dying through the cold.
