Late one evening, Kathy's Grandpa came to our house to see if my friend, 14-year-old Kathy was there. She wasn't, and he said she was missing. Over the next weeks, months, and years, I watched as the entire community joined in fear and searched for my missing friend. Detectives search for the truth and hunt for the older man Kathy was last with. Facts become a tangled web of lies. There were more questions than answers as they continued the hunt for Kathy. I went to work at the local police department later that year, and over the years, followed along with the detective's investigation. As the investigation continues, the story of what happened to Kathy that night slowly comes to light. But, as circumstantial evidence piles up, the question remains: Where is Kathy? This tale covering years is deceptively fast-paced, drawing the reader into the investigation and the quest to bring Kathy home. Finally, as the investigation comes full circle, I found myself in the woods with the man who took her and helped to bring Kathy home.
