Lord, Teach Us to Pray Like You

When the disciples asked Jesus 'teach us to pray' what did they really want to know? It's time to find out because the answers can help you, too.Admittedly, there is nothing brilliant or complex in this book. The chapters here are simple building blocks, beginning with prayer at the simplest level. What is prayer? What are the foundations for prayer? Even a well-seasoned Christian may find this review refreshing. Then on to the fundamentals of the Lord's Prayer and the core practices of prayer: asking, abiding, and persisting. When combined with truths about our platform and power for prayer, we have the framework to rise above mediocrity in prayer. From there I move to the functions of prayer like fighting the devil, helping others and working the harvest. Naturally, no discussion of prayer is complete without addressing some of the malfunctions we face in prayer. My approach here is not meant to be comprehensive, but it is meant to cover the basics for a life of prayer. The underlying theme throughout is that we learn to pray as we look to Jesus to teach us.
