Love Is... A celebration of love in all its forms

Love is LOUD, like a peacock proudly flashing its iridescent eyes for all to see. But sometimes love sings a quieter song, soft as the evening chorus, but no less strong.

This beautiful collection of animal similes celebrates love in its many different forms, including the strong bond between parents and their children and the importance of self love. Sarah Maycock's expressive and tender illustrations perfectly capture each emotion with just a few swoops of ink.

Lily Murray grew up in the wilds of snowy nowhere, spending much of her time talking to animals and making up stories. She has continued to do this in her adult life, and now writes both fiction and non-fiction books for children. Her titles for Big Picture Press include Dinosaurium, Beneath the Waves, Small Worlds: Water and There are Bugs Everywhere.

Sarah Maycock studied Illustration at Kingston University and in 2011 was selected as an It's Nice That Graduate. Notably, in 2018, she was commissioned to create a series of illustrations for London Natural History Museum's 2018 Whales exhibition. She trained herself to draw animals from nature documentaries. Her unique ability to capture a creature's characteristics or the forces of nature in just a few swoops of ink is incomparable and truly impressive. Sarah's book Sometimes I Feel... won the ALCS Educational Writers' Award in 2021. Sarah lives in Hastings, UK.
