Craig Russell, who worked directly with Michael Moorcock on the script.

Stormbringer marks the climatic chapter of the epic Elric saga, bringing to a conclusion the story of Elric of Melniboné, wielder of the Runeblade Stormbringer, and his legendary quest for vengeance. P. Russell Craig born October 30, 1951 in Wellsville, Ohio, USA. Educated at the University of Cincinnati. Began his career in 1972 for Marvel Comics working on War of the Worlds, Dr. Strange, Killraven, Elric - The Dreaming City and for Marvel's Epic Illustrated. Also drew Batman and Sandman for DC Comics. He has adapted several Elric titles from the works of Michael Moorcock for Eclipse and Graphitti Desings. He has also created comic book adaptations of several operas including: Parsifal, Salome, Ariane and Bluebeard, The Ring of Nibelung, and The Magic Flute for Dark Horse Comics. He has also drawn Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Wars.

Winner of the Inkpot Award, the Locus Award for Best Non-Fiction. He won the Shazam Award for Best New Talent in 1974 and went on to win the Harvey Award for Best Graphic Album for Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde, Volume 1, for which he also won the Parents' Choice Award in 1994 & 1995. He also won an Eisner Award for Best Limited Series in 2001 for The Ring of Nibelung.
