The Museum of Kitschy Stitches: A Gallery of Notorious Knits

The Museum of Kitschy Stitches is a full-colour showcase of the hideous and shocking (and all too real) knitting and crocheting horrors from eras gone by. Museum curator Stitchy McYarnpants (a.k.a. Debbie Brisson) has trolled knitting patterns, advertisements and catalogues for the most groan-inspiring crimes against fashion ever to assault the senses; sci-fi inspired creations from the 1940s, gender-bending sweater sets from the '60s and the groovy outerwear of the '70s.

Stitchy McYarnpants is the nom de plume of mild-mannered computer programmer Debbie Brisson, who has made a splash on the Web with her "confessions of a husbandneglecting, cat-shooing, yarn-hoarding knitaholic" blog (yarnpants.blogspot.com) and Museum of Kitschy Stitches Web site (www.museumofkitschystitches.com). She lives in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
