Alexander Toth was an American cartoonist, born June 25, 1928, in New York, New York. He was known for his animation designs for Hanna-Barbera, as well as a long list of work for DC Comics, Dell Comics, Golden Key Comics, Marvel Comics, Standard Comics and Warren Publishing. He was inducted into the comic book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1990. He passed away May 27, 2006, in Burbank, California at his drawing table. He was survived by his four children and seven grandchildren. "My Father, My Faith" shares the compelling story of the last year of his life and his relationship with his oldest daughter, Dana.

While he'd received critical acclaim all his life for his work and incredible talent, the one thing he'd yet to achieve was the one thing he had no idea how to create – family.

Together, they spent the last year of his life navigating a broken medical system and learning to love and forgive one another. Readers who already know of his work will learn about another side of him; readers who might not know of him will be introduced to him and his work through this true story of faith, advocacy, and love's ability to heal.

His family photographs and artwork, (including the cover) are integrated into the design of the book.
