Many connoisseurs — including Art Spiegelman, Daniel Clowes, Scott McCloud (creator of the “Five-Card Nancy” card game), Joe Brainard, and Andy Warhol — have recognized that Bushmiller’s often-corny Nancy approached its own kind of zen-like cartoon perfection.
