Negotiating Jerusalem

An in-depth examination of how Jerusalem is seen by both Palestinians and Israeli-Jews, this book is a landmark study of the potential for successfully negotiating the Jerusalem question. It sheds important light on the question "what is Jerusalem?" By showing that the current boundaries are not viewed by either side as sacrosanct, the authors prove that there is room for creative efforts to reach an agreement. Jerome M. Segal is the director of the Jerusalem Project at the University of Maryland's Center for International and Security Studies. He is also a Research Scholar at the Institute for Philosophy and Public Policy, School of Public Affairs, University of Maryland Shlomit Levy is senior research associate of the Guttman Center for Applied Social Research, now an affiliate of the Israel Democracy Institute. She also lectures at the Baerwald School of Social Work at the Hebrew University Nader Izzat Sa'id is the director of the Development Studies Program at Bir Zeit University Elihu Katz is Trustee Professor of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, emeritus professor of sociology and communication at the Hebrew University, and former scientific director of the Guttman Institute of Applied Social Research
