The Nibelungenlied

George Henry Needler has translated this epic poem into English. This translation like none of the previous ones has attempted to retrain the original meter. Each group of people have their own sagas and for the Aryan¿s this is theirs. The time of this epic is 400 to 600 A D. As the Germanic people traveled across Europe trying to find a permanent place to settle they experienced great battles and hardships. The Nibelungen saga has two parts. The mythical story of Siegfried combines with the story, founded on historic fact, of the Burgundians. This book is recommended for anyone interested in early European history and who has a love of mythology.
