Oldcat and MS Puss

In this original, experimental-form novel, Oldcat is a "broke-back" ex-football player at a Florida college, now living with his wife, Ms Puss, and their two children, Grrr and Meow, in west Alabama. In seven chapters named for the seven days, Oldcat and Ms Puss move, though not linearly, from courtship through middle age and into their twilight years. Taylor's style is comic but profoundly moving, as we witness this oddly named but very real couple experience all the stages of love and life.
