Over the Mountains

Two Tibetan girls escaped from Tibet at the age of five and ten and traveled over the mountains into Nepal and finally to India in search of a more promising future. They walked over some of the roughest terrain in the world and left everything they knew behind. Their poignant stories, shared by thousands of other Tibetan children, trace the path of their parents' deliberations, their painful and hazardous journeys, and their new lives as students in a Tibetan Children's Village School in northern India.
