Arriving in New York in 1967, Paul McDonough's visual experience became high-octane, as spontaneous aesthetic and the metropolis collided in the improvisational theater of street photography. This first-ever monograph of his powerful work reveals the intimacy in actions and relationships found in the crowded streets of urbania. Paul McDonoughhas taught at Pratt Institute, Yale University, Cooper Union, Marymount College, Parsons School of Design, and Fordham University. His awards include NEA and Guggenheim grants. His work is in numerous public and private collections. Curator in the department of photography at New York's Museum of Modern Art since 1986, Susan Kismarichas organized numerous exhibitions, authored multiple books, and has taught at Yale University and, currently, at Fordham University.
