Ava Zinfield has ordinary hopes for her senior year at Wilson High School. Romance would be nice for a change. Keeping her good reputation intact is a must. But sometimes, in the middle of the ordinary, life takes unexpected turns. Any new day might be the one to change her life forever. On a family vacation to South Africa to visit grandparents that she barely knows, Ava's very sense of identity is challenged, and every step she takes leads her further from the life she thought was meant for her. Valerie Cox is a former crew member (2005-2006) of Mercy Ships, a hospital ship that provides life-changing surgeries for the people of West Africa. She currently teaches English in her hometown of Cleveland, Texas, and enjoys exploring nature, keeping in touch with friends and family, and helping children and teens learn the truth about God's love.
