Philosophy of Religion

Philosophy of Religion is an engaging and informative textbook. While it is broadly analytic in its overall structure, it is informed by and includes an analysis of other streams, notably Continental and feminist approaches to the subjects covered. It also engages with nontheistic perspectives of ultimate reality, for example, while interacting with the current debates and discussions in Western philosophy of religion and philosophical theology. These discussions include topics of interest to students and scholars alike, such as pluralism and religious diversity, recent arguments for and against the existence of God, the role of science and faith in religion, and life after death.
The work is primarily designed for undergraduate students, and as such is written in accessible language, but it is not limited to undergraduates. It is also useful for educated general readers, graduate students, and professional scholars who seek a concise presentation and analysis of the current stay of play in the field.

Chad Meister is Professor of Philosophy at Bethel College, USA. His publications include Evil: A Guide for the Perplexed, The Oxford Handbook of Religious Diversity, and The Routledge Companion to Philosophy of Religion. He is also general co-editor (with Paul Moser) of Cambridge Studies in Religion, Philosophy, and Society.
