Political Systems of East Asia: China, Korea, and Japan

This innovative, interdisciplinary introduction to East Asian politics uses a thematic approach to describe the political development of China, Japan, and Korea since the mid-nineteenth century and analyze the social, cultural, political, and econoinmic features of each country. It identifies Confucianism as the common thread running through the histories of all three countries, and explains how each nation has employed this shared tradition in its own political development.
