Quest for the Shard

In a time of great darkness, when evil sweeps the land, a prophecy foretells the coming of a savior, a child that will defeat the forces of evil and save the world. She is Kyria, the Chosen One. Stranded thousands of years in the past, Kyria, along with her best friends, Mica and Sartir, continue to search for the one artifact, the Shard of Time, that could possibly return them to where they belong. With Sartir guiding them on their journey to find the Shard, their path has been difficult and traumatic, but the end is almost in sight. However, before they can reclaim the Shard and go back home, they need to survive the icy peaks of the Mourning Mountains, one of the most inhospitable and deadly places in all of the Seven Kingdoms. The peaks have been known as Deathtrap, because if one survives the deadly terrain, the inhabitants who call the mountains home would certainly spell their doom. Kyria, Mica, and Sartir must brave the elements, the inhabitants, and more twists and turns than any of them had been prepared for, all, on their quest for the Shard.

Clifford B. Bowyer has been a lifelong fan of novels and reading. He can always be found with a book in his hand, and reads a variety of topics and authors. From a very early age, he used to write short stories in notebooks while traveling, and entertain family and friends by reading his stories to them. During his eighth grade school year, Bowyer wrote his first novel, a western that had been written as a school project. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and always wished to write more over the years. Throughout his education, Bowyer had always received top honors and marks for his writing, including standardized exams (GMAT's) where he scored in the top 5% of the country.Bowyer went on to Bryant College to pursue business for his Undergraduate degree, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double concentration in Management and Marketing. Not only did he receive the double degree, but he also completed his studies a full semester early.Bowyer then entered the business world, working a variety of positions, including customer service, supervisory roles, marketing management, and then moving into a financial services company, where he remained in an entry level position for a year before advancing to a Business Analyst position. From there, he was selected to join a Project Management team, where he remained until deciding to leave the company to finish another degree and also focus more upon his writing.The most recent degree is a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Babson College. Bowyer completed that in December of 2003. His writing he had been doing on a part-time basis over six years, researching and developing the fantasy world that he has brought to life in his first novel, The Imperium Saga: The Impending Storm. The result of his careful planning has been a richly detailed fantasy world that has received extremely positive reviews from its initial readers and book reviewers.Since leaving his prior position, Bowyer has completed the trilogy, the second book of which, The Changing Tides, has just been released in June 2005. He also has a spin-off Young Adult series, the first three of which have been released, that follow The Adventures of Kyria, the twelve-year-old child of prophecy introduced in his first book. In addition to writing, he also spends time promoting his novels, and has made appearances at Boston based conventions (Arisia, Boskone, WorldCon, Super Boston MegaFest, and Gaylaxicon), Book Expo America in New York, local events (Celebrate Holliston Day, Milford Fall Festival, and school speaking appearances), and book signings (Barnes & Noble in Walpole, Bellingham, and Nashua NH).
