Quiet Please, Grandma Is Sleeping!

Grandma loves to take her mid-morning nap in her favorite rocking chair. Unfortunately, that is when the world is most busy. The morning chaos consists of children getting ready for school, mom preparing breakfast, and people maneuvering their way through traffic to get to work. The noise is overwhelming! But there is one member of the family who will do whatever it takes to make sure Grandma gets her nap.

A proud native of Jamaica and an active mother of two, Tessa Marie Haiden received her master's degree in Social Work at the prestigious Howard University in Washington, DC. She has over 15 years of experience working with children in special education and individuals with disabilities. Tessa's books support early learning and promote skills that lead to independence. Early learning exploration is a passion that Tessa adamantly displays in her writings. Her books are not only written to teach and support early learning but are a joy to read again and again from cover to cover!  Tessa is also the author of "There Are Too Many Kids" and "Peenie Wallie." Tessa's mantra, "Let your imagination soar!" Born and raised in Jamaica, self-taught artist Davia A. Morris always held a fascination with art particularly book illustrations and cartoons- which she incessantly worked on between classes while at Meadowbrook High school. After graduating, with support from both her mother and elder sister she continued to hone her artistic skills at every opportunity. To advance in her artistic journey, Davia chose to specialize in animation, first at the Games Academy then later at the Vocational Training Development Institute where she obtained an Associate Degree in Animation.

Now at age 21 with skills in character design, 2D and 3D animation, she is a freelance artist looking to make her mark in the industry as she continues to increase her knowledge in this area. Davia is currently the illustrator of eight children's books.
