Regardless of Frontiers : Children's Rights and Global Learning

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms education rights that include learning about the world and the rights for all children to expression and to information. This book focuses on the rights and responsibilities of children as global citizens and what teachers can do to present and promote them in their classrooms. It combines curriculum analysis with practical experience, particularly of children learning from and with children across frontiers of nation state, language and culture. Regardless of Frontiers takes a holistic view of global learning in schools in preference to the usual division into subject requirements; shows how the everyday lives of children can become a more visible and vocal source for learning; and provides guidance for teachers and teachers in training on relevant learning resources, and criteria for evaluating how effectively they present children's lives.
